Shampooed with Organix Moroccan Argan Creme Shampoo.
Tea rinsed with mix of green tea and rooibos tea.
Silk Dreams Vanilla Silk Cream Moisture Dream, again with steam. This conditioner and my
hair will forever be BFFs. After rinsing out the conditioner, I wrapped my hair in a towel to soak up all excess water (for step 5). After removing the towel my hair was so soft and smooth.
Did a clear rinse with Adore. I applied the rinse and left it on for 5 minutes before rinsing it out.
Wrapped my hair with a cotton t-shirt for an hour before applying my leave ins - Hairitage Hydration Soft Coconut Marshmallows and Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum - and detangling with my Hercules Sägemann 5580 and 1975 combs. I'm giving away two HS5580 combs so if you haven't entered the giveaway yet, enter here. Go, go, go!
As I detangled, I clipped my hair in sections, which helped keep my stretched as it dried, instead of coiling back up like it normally would. I also worked in small sections when detanling. Detangling in smaller sections, starting from the ends and working my way up, helps keep breakage to a minimum.
After detangling, I applied aloe vera gel to my edges + tied my edges down with a silk scarf and let my hair air dry.
In the end, my hair was very soft. I was a happy gal. Pre-pooing with a moisturizing conditioner and then deep conditioning with a very moisturizing deep conditioner is just what the hair doctor recommended for my dry new growth.
Many thanks to Uzoma for her comment on my last wash day post recommending I do a clear rinse to help with detangling. It was a easier to work through my hair this week. Here's what I lost while detangling and at 18 weeks post and after not co-washing during the week to remove any tangles or shed hair, I am happy with this amount of shed hair.
I had both Jazzing Clear Rinse and Adore in my product stash but I remembered that Ebony of Longing4Length has only had good things to say about Adore (and she was the one who introduced me to clear rinses) so with Adore I went. I dunno how often I'll do a clear rinse, probably once every 6-8 weeks? Maybe.
Game plan for the week: follow through with my mid-week co-wash/deep condition and do a flexi rod set. I've been meaning to do one of the two for the last 2 weeks but seriously after detangling all this hair I'm just over my wash days haha. But at this point, I think a flexi rod set would be much, much easier than a roller set so maybe I should just toss the idea of a roller out the window all together. *shrug*
How was your most recent wash day?
