Product Review: Hair Trigger Growth Elixir

Price: $16.99 for 8 fl oz bottle. For this review I purchased the 4 fl oz bottle (no longer offered) for $8.99

Purchased At: www.hairtriggergrowthelixir.com

The result is up to double - triple* your normal rate of hair growth in as little as 2 months with noticeable results in as little as 1 week. Some have grown from their normal rate of .5 inches to an accelerated growth rate of 1.5 inches in just 1 month!"

DirectionsDaily Treatment: Apply hair trigger explosive growth elixir to the scalp making sure to apply to no more than 1 inch of hair from the root. After awakening, rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and continue with normal shampoo routine. // Straight or Curly hair hot oil deep conditioning:  To revive follicles Apply a generous amount to damp or dry hair  and distribute evenly from scalp to ends.  Massage in thoroughly.  For intensive deep conditioning, cover hair with plastic cap or saran wrap and leave on for 15-30 minutes  with moderate dryer heat.  Rinse thoroughly and proceed to shampoo.

My Assessment: When I first started using Hair Trigger Growth Elixir, I promised I would track my progress by taking weekly pictures. I slacked on actually taking pictures every week, but 6 weeks out of a 10 week stretch isn't bad (I hope). During the week, I used Hair Trigger for my scalp massages every other day and on wash days (all but one wash day actually) I applied Hair Trigger to my scalp as a pre-poo (pre-shampoo treatment).

I ended up buying two bottles of this product. For the first bottle, I opted not to purchase a fragrance for an additional $4.99. I was being cheap and thought I could handle the "normal" fragrance. I was wrong. Without an additional fragrance, the product smells very herbal-y and it's pretty strong. I ended up purchasing a second bottle with the vanilla poundcake scent. The normal scent was just too strong for me and I was pretty self-conscious about anyone around me smelling it in my hair. I personally thought the vanilla poundcake scent was a little overpowering when I first opened the bottle but it faded and ended up smelling sweet and pretty nice.

When applying the elixir during the week, I had to make sure I wasn't heavy handed because it's a fairly heavy oil. I also had to rebottle it in a color applicator bottle with a much narrower nozzle. It's great the product comes with a applicator nozzle but I think the nozzle's design is a bit flawed because it's pretty wide, causing more oil to be dispensed than necessary. I used the bottle shown here.

Shipping was also very fast. I received a shipping notification about an hour after I completed my order and received the product 3 days later. This elixir also helped soften up my new growth.

All in all, I love Hair Trigger most for its impact on my shedding. Black tea, garlic, and onion all help reduce hair fall and I experienced noticeable reduction in weekly shedding and shedding on wash days. As for a "growth explosion" I can't say I really experienced one. I did grow a little bit more than normal (seen better in the second picture below) but it was no where near double or triple the amount I normally grow in 10 weeks.

Because the 4 fl oz bottle is no longer offered I don't know if I'd be willing to purchase a 8 fl oz bottle for $16.99 without a sale. I also wouldn't repurchase solely for growth aid purposes because I just didn't see the double/triple growth spurt or 1.5 inches in one month the product claims to produce, but for shedding, I'd definitely repurchase.

I'm sorry the week 9 picture is off-center!

  1. I totally agree with your review on hair trigger... It's pretty good but I don't see the "explosion" of growth. I'll repurchase when there is a good discount sale although shipping is a bit steep.

    Your new growth resembles mines.

  2. *reviews your hair regime* I get that kind of growth in half a year so it may not be hair trigger but you are doing something (alot of things right).

  7. Great review and I totally agree. I like it for prepoos. I got the regular scent so I was too self conscious to use it daily. It smelled like straight garlic and onions to me lol. It's a really nice, thick oil though.

  8. Do you recommend this with or without the scent? How long have you been using hair trigger?

    1. I prefer it with a scent... without an additional scent, it has a strong herbal smell. I've been using it October 2012.
